critique of 'The Shining"

opening image: aerial shot of a lake, zooms in t o awinding road with a car
driving.slow, deep and unhappy music

cinemaretography: bright, ugly orange/red.

characters: Jack- father, in his 40's, a writer that gets a job working as caretaker over the winter for a hotel, in a very isolated place.
mom/wife-in her 30's, takes care of hotel with her husband, have a little boy, wants a normal happy family.
Little boy(Doc)-about 3 years old, has visions/ can hear people talking, wants his daddy to keep him safe and promise him so, daddy never promises to keep mommy safe though.

Music: High pitched fiddle/strings, just before all of the killing scenes,or when the little boy sees scary visions

scenes:my favorite- when jack stabs teh cook- i expected it, but it was kind of random.
and when jack tells his son he won't hurt him, but won;t say anything about his wife.

closing image: jack dies/freezes to death in the maze, with a creepy frozen smile, fades to the picture on the wall from 1921, it zooms onto his face with the same creepy smile.

recommendation: i rate this at a 3 (out of 5, 5 being the best)because it had a lot of cheesy scenes, yet it managed to be a half scary movie. Meghan, you'd agree with me.
